Last week we were basking in temperatures in the high 20's, with the kids swimming in the pool for relief. Yesterday we were hit with one of the coldest May days recorded in the last 50 years for this region - it was only 6 degrees at 3pm! Today was sunnier - but still pretty cold. The hills above the village got a good dusting of snow, including Mt Canigou (pictured) which last week had almost no snow left on it at all. All the locals are shaking their heads (that global warming ay - mon dieu!). Wednesday today so the kids were off school (which I'm really liking - breaks the week up nicely). We went to a local artisan glass blowing place and watched them in action. Very interesting (except we had our hearts in our mouths as the kids danced around all the glass in the shop).
